In mid-September of 2015, I spent a three-day weekend on the North Carolina coast, visiting New Bern, Beaufort, Atlantic Beach and Wilmington.
On Friday, I visited the Tryon Palace and the North Carolina History Center in New Bern, then went on to Beaufort to visit the North Carolina Maritime Museum, including the Blackbeard exhibit with the artifacts from the Queen Anne’s Revenge, before staying the night in Morehead City.

On Saturday, I went to Atlantic Beach and visited the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and Fort Macon. I then took a bus tour of Historic Beaufort before returning home.
